Lake Bullen Merri is a volcanic lake on the western outskirts of Camperdown, a small inland town in the southern state of Victoria. It covers an area of about 552 hectares and is about 185 kilometers by car from Melbourne, the capital of Victoria.
Lake Bullen Merri, adjacent to the Camperdown Botanical Garden at an average depth of about 60 meters, is like a clover, demonstrating the origin of the lake: three connected volcanoes erupt together to form a giant depression.
Lake Bullen Merri is clear and perfect for fishing, swimming and walking, a hot summer resort every summer weekend. There are public car parks, restrooms, fishing platforms, docks and other public facilities on the south bank of the lake.
