Mount Leura

Mt Leura Rd, Camperdown VIC 3260, Australia

Introduction of Mount Leura

Mount Leura is located in the eastern suburb of Camperdown, a small inland town in southern Victoria.

Mount Leura, a small hill close to the town, looks a bit like the Los Angeles Observatory, with an observatory on the top of the hill that can drive all the way. The air on the top of the mountain is fresh and the visibility is high, so you can easily see the whole town. Looking from a distance, you can also see Australia's largest permanent saltwater lake: Lake Corun Camel (Lake Corangamite), and the elephant mountain (Mount Elephant), 40 kilometers away, are also clearly visible, and look very much like the "sugar bread" that is common on the dining table; On sunny days, (Grampians National Park), can also be seen on the west horizon, while the eastern horizon is the vast temperate rainforest of (Otway), Otway.

Tip:

  • The Peak viewing platform can be driven by car or on foot. It takes about 45 minutes from the centre of the town.
  • There is no bathroom at the top of the hill.
