Atherton, a small town of The Crystal Caves on the Atherton plateau in northeast Queensland, is an artificial cave mineral museum.
The Crystal Caves is not only a cave, but also a museum with more than 600 kinds of crystals, gemstone ores and fossils from all over the world. The most striking thing in the cave is the world's largest purple crystal: Queen of Uruguay. At a height of 3 meters and weighing 2.5 metric tons, this piece of violet crystal is amazing in size alone, and the purple glow is even more eye-opening. The Queen of Uruguay is known as the Queen of Uruguay because the violet crystal produced in the world has always been the highest tone of purple in the violet crystal and is considered to be the best of the Uruguayan violet crystal because it is large and pure in color.
