Atherton

Introduction of Atherton

Atherton is a small town on the Atherton Tablesands in the northeast of Queensland, about 1680 kilometers from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, about 80 kilometers from Cairns, a famous tourist city in Queensland.

As early as the late 19th century, large quantities of gold and tin deposits were discovered around Keynes, allowing large numbers of European-Americans to flock to North Queensland and attracting many Chinese to emigrate from China or elsewhere in Australia. So, since 1903, Australia's largest Chinatown was formed in the town of Atherton, called Cedar Camp, where the famous Hou Wang Temple, (Hou Wang Chinese Temple and Museum), is the tallest Chinese temple in Australia.

Atherton is the largest town on the Atherton plateau, the capital of the plateau, and a good place to replenish. Besides, the (The Crystal Caves), an artificial cave and mineral museum, is worth visiting. Place.
