Introduction of Crater Lakes National Park

Crater Lakes National Park is located in the eastern suburb of Yungaburra in the small town of (Atherthon Tableland) on the Atherton Plateau in northeast Queensland, about 5 km from Yungaburra and 65 km northeast from Cairns, Queensland's famous tourist city.

Crater Lakes National Park consists of two lakes:

  • Lake Yassen (Lake Eacham, to the south covers an area of about 50 hectares with an average depth of 66 metres)
  • Bering Lake (Lake Barrine, in the north is also translated as Balin Lake, Bailey Lake, covering an area of about 30 hectares with an average depth of 65 meters.

The two lakes are about 2 km apart and are volcanic lakes formed by volcanic eruptions. The surrounding vegetation belongs to a typical tropical rain forest growing on fertile red basalt soil with abundant rainfall. Both lakes are home to a large number of wild birds, well-preserved ecology, beautiful surrounding mountains, beautiful scenery, the lake has walkways and picnic areas.

Yassen Lake is a well-known recreation lake in Queensland. It is an ideal place for locals to swim, bird watching, jungle hiking and canoeing. In order to protect the lake's environment and clear lake water, motor boats are forbidden to swim the lake. Clear and clear blue crystal-like lakes are surrounded by abundant rainforests, with about 10 hectares of green land nearby, ideal for jungle hiking and bird-watching activities. Yassen Lake is surrounded by a touring trail that allows visitors to walk and tour along the lake, which takes 45 minutes to circle.

By the side of Bailing Lake, there are companies operating cruise services on the upper reaches of the lake, which can travel around the lake for a week, with its own explanation. There is a lake-view restaurant on the shore, and it is also great to sit by the lake to drink coffee. The lake is very beautiful, the lake is clear and the water is as clear as a mirror. And consider it one of the clearest lakes in Queensland, where many beginners practice diving, and where Australia-specific rare animals live: platypus, If you are lucky, visitors will have a chance to see this strange creature.
