Upper Yarra Reservoir Park is located in a plateau about 20 kilometers east of Warburton, a mountainous town in central Victoria, about 95 kilometers from Melbourne, the capital of Victoria.
Upper Yarra Reservoir Park is adjacent to and named after the (Upper Yarra Reservoir) reservoir in the upper reaches of the Yala River. It has a large area, a clear water quality and a beautiful environment. It is located in the plateau, and is the highest position in which the (Yarra River) of the Yala River is open to the public. The well-maintained gardens and picnic grounds are surrounded by lush eucalyptus bushes, overlooking the magnificent scenery and being a favorite camping relaxation site for local residents and tourists. Here, visitors can take a stroll around the tall eucalyptus forest along the beautiful fern valley (Fern Gully) self-help guide path, enjoy the lush fern understory trees, or view the magnificent scenery of the reservoir and surrounding catchment areas from the viewing platform. You can also take a slow stroll along the Blimbarnga walking path (Brimbonga Walking Track), enjoy the views of the brook platform, watch the river flow through the reservoir exit basin, and eventually flow to Melbourne.
