Punt Road Winery is located in the western suburb of Healesville, the core town of (Yarra Valley), the famous wine-producing area of Victoria, about 50 kilometers by car from the Victorian capital, Melbourne.
Punt Road Winery's name comes from a north-south boulevard in Melbourne: Putt Road (Punt Road), which extends all the way to (Yarra River), the Yala river, is the only way across the river. This road witnessed the development of the history of grape planting in the valley of Aragora, so the winery was named after the road.
The development of Punt Road Winery witnessed the struggle of the two families. The winery and its vineyards dates back to the 1860s, when a pair of brothers from Switzerland, Paul (Paul) and Hubert Castella (Hubert de Castella), came down the (Yarra River) River. Since the establishment of the Saint Hubert Vineyard (St. Huberts Vineyard), the grape-growing and wine-making industries in the Yala Valley have developed rapidly. In 1880, the Melbourne World Expo was held in (Royal Exhibition Building), the newly built Royal Exhibition. Saint-Hubert was one of the 15 wineries that won the exhibition and won the King William I award. A vineyard in, Punt Road Winery today, called the Emperor's reward, commemorates the achievements of St. Hubert's Chateau.
In 1900, the St. Hubert's area has reached 260 acres, one of the largest wineries in the Aquila Valley, but the subsequent war and the deterioration of the economic situation have hit the wine industry of the Yala Valley, including the St. Hubert's winery, which has stopped production until 1978, When Joseph Napoleione, an Italian-based immigrant, bought the industry of St. Hubert's winery, the grapes were replanted here in 1987, which opened the history of Mount Road Winery.
With a total of 75 hectares of vineyards in, Punt Road Winery, the vineyards grow grape varieties depending on the properties of different plots and produce wines entirely from their own vineyards.
Punt Road Winery offers wine tasting every day, serving wine and cheese platters. In addition, the winery has a huge back garden for children to enjoy, and visitors can enjoy the beauty of the orchard while tasting the wine.
