Sydney Olympic Park is located in the western suburb of Sydney (Sydnet), the capital of New South Wales, about 15 kilometers from the city of Sydney.
Sydney Olympic Park, covering an area of about 640 hectares, adjacent to the outskirts of (Homebush Bay), is a large-scale sports and entertainment complex developed for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, the venue for many Olympic events, and after the Games, A large number of venues have been idle or even abandoned. Since 2002, the Australian government has taken 10 years to demolish some of the Olympic venues, while the remaining facilities have continued to be used for sports and cultural events. There are now three different uses of Sydney Olympic Park: as venues for the NBL and ANL games in Australia's two professional rugby leagues, and as places for commercial performances. And the annual Sydney (Sydney Festival) and Sydney Easter carnival (Sydney Royal Easter Show) are all scheduled for Sydney Olympic Park.. At present, commercial performances have become the largest use of the Olympic Park, with no less than 100 commercial performances held here every year. Generally, only big-name stars from Europe and the United States come to Australia to hold concerts in the main gymnasium. Smaller stars tend to choose the old gymnasium in the heart of Sydney.
Sydney Olympic Park area is very large, including a number of sports venues and other entertainment venues, such as the Australian New Zealand Sports Centre (ANZ Stadium), Water Sports Centre (Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre), Tennis Centre (Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre), 200th Anniversary Park (Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park) et al.
