Lane Cove National Park is located in the northern suburb of Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, about 14 kilometers from the city of Sydney.
The Lane Cove National Park terrain is long and narrow, and the alleyway of the Bay River, (Lane Cove River), passes through the park. The National Park, covering an area of 3.92 square kilometers, is not large in all kinds of national parks in Sydney, but because it is relatively close to the urban area of Sydney, although it is surrounded by highly urbanized areas, it is still quiet. More than 1 million visitors come here every year to walk, row, ride or barbecue, camping. The National Park not only protects many vegetation communities, but also serves as a habitat for endangered wildlife.
Renting a boating river in Lane Cove National Park is a popular activity here, but hiking is the reason more people come here, and there are two official hiking routes in the park. Beida Road (Great North Walk) is the longest and most difficult, extending beyond the park, about 10 km one way within the park. Another route, "riverbank aisle" (Riverside Walking Track), is relatively easy, five kilometers one-way from Delhi Road to Deburghs Bridge, where Australia-specific parrots, smiling kingfisher and egrets can be seen all the way. Lane Cove National Park also offers camping grounds where visitors can choose to spend the night.
More than 1 million people come here every year to walk, row, ride or barbecue, camping., Lane Cove National Park was first opened to the public in 1938, from 1967 until 1976, known as the Lane Cove River Park (Lane Bay River National Park). Changed its name to Lane Cove River State Recreation Area (Lane Bay River State Resort in 1978 and won the title of National Park in 1992.
