Victoria Barracks is located in Paddington (Paddington), a neighborhood east of Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, about 5 kilometers from the heart of Sydney.
Victoria Barracks, once the largest military barracks in the southern hemisphere, was built between 1841 and 1846 by prisoners of the time and allowed to garrison 650 troops, as well as offices, training grounds and hospitals.
