Maheno Shipwreck

75 Mile Beach, Fraser Island QLD 4581, Australia

Introduction of Maheno Shipwreck

(Fraser Island, Queensland) located on the east coast of Australia, north of Brisbane, Queensland, about 400km from Brisbane and covering an area of 1620 square kilometers, is the largest sand island in the world and was listed on the World Heritage list in 1992.

Maheno Shipwreck is located in the middle of (Seventy Five Mile Beach), 75 miles of beach on the east coast of Fraser Island. The Mahino, once the most luxurious cruise ship between Sydney and Oakland in the 20th century, was sent to Europe as a medical vessel during World War I and then returned to Australia to continue as a luxury cruise. In 1935, it retired and was dragged to Japan. Washed up to 75 miles of beach on Fraser Island, used by the Australian Air Force during World War II as a target for training, only two of the more than 100 bombs were dropped.

Although the form of Maheno Shipwreck still exists, there is serious rust inside and outside, so visitors are prohibited from climbing and entering. But even if it can only be taken with it, its weathered and glorious history is enough to excite travelers.
