Curtain Fig Tree

Fig Tree Road, East Barron QLD 4883, Australia

Introduction of Curtain Fig Tree

Curtain Fig Tree is located in (Atherthon Tableland), a small town on the Atherton Plateau in northeast Queensland, located in (Curtain Fig National Park), a Curtain Fig Tree National Park on the southwest outskirts of Yungaburra, about 70 kilometers northeast of Cairns, a famous tourist city in Queensland.

Curtain Fig Tree, which is 15 meters tall and has been growing for more than 500 years, is an Australian national treasure tree and was listed as a Queensland historical site in 2009. Curtain Fig Tree has several roots hanging from its branches, like a huge natural green curtain, so it is named after a small wooden hanging trail around the bottom of the tree for tourists to visit.

In addition to Curtain Fig Tree, the Atherton Plateau has a tree that has grown for more than 500 years: Cathedral Fig Tree, in the Danbulla State Forest, about 18 kilometers from Yungaburra.
