Russell Square is located in the heart of Perth and covers an area of about 24000 square meters. It was named Paco between 1839 and 1852 and was a gathering place for Italian communities. Originally designed according to the park scheme and modelled on the London style of the mid-19th century, the Plaza carried out a series of upgrades in 1994 and rebuilt the roads as part of the renovation plan. The original sculptures of thirty local artists were set up in Russell Square, as the biggest attraction.
