Magnetic Island, located on the northeast coast of Townsville, the fourth largest city on Queensland's northeast coast, is about 20 minutes by boat from wharf (Breakwater Terminal) in Townsville and covers an area of about 52 square kilometers, with about 2000 permanent residents on the island.
