Townsville, Queensland's fourth-largest city on the northeast coast of Queensland, is about 20 kilometers by car from the city of Townsville.
Billabong Sanctuary, a wildlife park located in a natural jungle of about 25 hectares, has three representative habitats: rainforests, eucalyptus forests and wetlands, near which live a large number of North Queensland waterbirds. There are plenty of photography opportunities for tourists.
There are more than 100 species of Australian animals in Billabong Sanctuary, including those endemic to North Queensland, such as saltwater alligators and endangered turkey eaters. Many animals and birds are wild, and there are also some display animals in captivity.
Billabong Sanctuary has one of the most interactive wildlife experiences in Australia, and there is a series of unforgettable adventures between Australia's native animals and tourists like koala, boa constrictor, and crocodile. Alligator feeding shows, tortoises and other interesting activities, and gift shops, restaurants, swimming pools and other facilities.
