Moonta is a small town with a long history of mining, formerly known as the (Moonta Mines Model School), Museum of the Moonta Mining School, founded in 1878, with 14 rooms, documenting the way of life, mining, accommodation, social activities, and movement of miners during the mining period. A large number of mining-related clothing, tools, porcelain, photos and souvenirs are displayed.
