Bald Hill

Bald Hill, Stanwell Tops NSW 2508, Australia

Introduction of Bald Hill

Bald Hill, located south of Sydney, NSW's capital, is about 50 km north from the city of Sydney and about 35 km from (Wollongong), the second-largest city in New South Wales, to the north.

Bald Hill is one of the hills in range (Illawarra Range) in Ilawala, known for its beautiful scenery. The Bald Hill viewing platform at the top of the hill, (Bald Hill Lookout), is one of Australia's most famous observatories, about 300m above sea level. Enjoy the magnificent cliffs and blue oceans of the area, as well as the spectacular (Sea Cliff Bridge) panorama of the Sea Cliff Bridge.

In addition, Bald Hill is also the world-famous hanging glide and paragliding (Hang gliding and paragliding) site. Australian aviation pioneer Lawrence Haggrave (Lawrence Hargrave) tried a box kite (Box kites), at the beach under Bald Hill in the early 20th century, a monument near the top of the hill to the effect that the monument reads as follows:

"Lawrence Haggrave (1850 / 1915), a pioneer in aero-engine, single-wing aircraft and box kites, has played an important role in the development of human aviation technology."
