Whyalla Conservation Park is located in the northern outskirts of South Australia's third largest city, Whyalla, on the northeast corner of (Eyre Peninsula), South Australia's Al Peninsula, about 10 kilometers from Whyalla and covers an area of 19.7 square kilometers.
The entrance to Whyalla Conservation Park is the Lincoln Expressway (Lincoln Hwy), Wild Dog Mountain (Wild Dog Hill) is the most important part of the park, there is a walkway to the top of the mountain, a high view of the surrounding picturesque scenery and the Whyalla downtown. Both red kangaroo and gray kangaroo can be found here while more than 80 species of wild birds inhabit the park.
