Kingston Beach is located on the southern outskirts of Horbart, Tasmania's capital, about 12 kilometers from the city of Hobart.
Kingston Beach is a popular place for swimming and sailing, with a charming, curved white beach with steep, wooded cliffs on both ends. Continue along the road, Blackmans Bay, a popular swimming area. There is also the Tinderbox Marine Reserve, where you can dive along underwater markings.
Kingston is also home to Australia's Antarctic Department, which manages 42 percent of Australia's frozen continent, with small exhibitions on Antarctic exploration and ecology.
