Mahon Pool is located on the southeastern outskirts of Sydney, New South Wales, in (Maroubra), the newly affluent district of Maruba, about 12 kilometers from the city of Sydney and about 10 minutes' walk from (Maroubra Beach), Maruba Beach.
Unlike most of Sydney's Mahon Pool, Mahon Pool, which is not attached to a corner of the beach, exists independently, isolated from natural rock groups, with a rugged beauty. A few hundred meters north from Ruba Beach, this beautiful Mahon Pool will be found next to a rocky platform at the bottom of a steep hill.
Built in 1932 and about 30 metres long, the most attractive (and perhaps embarrassing) part of the Mahon Pool is that, when the sea level is high, waves will flood from all sides into the pool, and even within the pool there will be a small wave.
The scenic Mahon Pool allows tourists to bathe in the sun on the rocks along the beach or ride the wind in the shade of the shoreline grass.
