In the past, the bustling towns of Australia were very active and lively. The merciless years have had a devastating effect, leaving some souls to tell the interesting stories of these former rich areas.

Although they may be epitomized, some of the empty areas are still so charming that they are chosen as the setting for some famous films, such as Mission impossible II, which has even been visited by celebrities. Like Patrick Switz. Take an inventory of the 14 towns that may have been forgotten for you.

1, Cook, (Cook, South Australia), South Australia

The trans-Australian railway station was built in 1917 in the wilderness of the Narabeth Plain. Cook once had 50 people to help maintain the rail track, but now there are only four. Most of the buildings here are cursed, including a school. This is the world's longest straight section of the railway, about 478 km.

The three ghost towns, located on the edge of the desert, were settled by farmers in 1878, with a population of about 600, but the nearby coal mines were closed in 1927 due to years of drought and sandstorms. The adjustment of the Gan train, the (The Ghan) railway, led to the abandonment of the town.

Goverment, South Australia, is rebuilding the site, including the ruins of two hotels, underground bakeries, banks, churches and shops. In 1909, 1143 kilograms of iron meteorites were found near the town.

3. Silverton, New South Wales (Silverton,NSW)

The town, about 30 kilometers from Broken Hill in the far west of New South Wales, has added unique backgrounds to a number of films, including Mission II (1999), indecent college (2001) and crazy Max II (1981).

First, the Wiljakali indigenous people settled here, and then, thanks to the discovery of silver, miners flocked to the area. It has grown into a bustling town with a population of about 3000, but in the early 1990s residents moved away to support the mining business of Brocenhill (Broken Hill). There are less than 50 people in this small town, and there are very few buildings in the town.

Once upon a time, 2500 people called the mountain town Valhara Temple. Today, time has solidified and the town has fewer than 20 permanent residents, but despite its numerous holiday homes and interesting traditional buildings, the tourism industry has continued to grow. Patrick Weitz says he spent a lot of time in the area when he was young.
