Walhalla

Introduction of Walhalla

Walhalla is a small town in the eastern Victoria region of Gippsland (Gippsland region), about 180 kilometers from Melbourne Victoria capital, next to Bobo National Park (Baw Baw National Park).

The Walhalla, named after the palace Wahalla of odin, the legendary lord god of northern europe, was a thriving mining town with a population of more than 4800 at its peak. As the mining industry collapsed, residents gradually leave, the current Walhalla resident population of only about 20 people, which is already small can not be called a town, and now most people who come to visit the town can only see the remaining community sites. Walhalla, however, is a famous resort town, because it is close to Bobo National Park, one of the hottest resorts in Virginia, which has a large number of vacations house, attracting a large number of tourists every year.

Surrounded by mountains, picturesque scenery and a short distance from Melbourne, Walhalla is a perfect place to travel on weekends without any interference from mobile phones and the Internet. This isolation gives visitors a 100% relaxation experience where they can find the rare serenity of modern life. Moreover, Walhalla is the starting point of the 650 km Australian Alps Walking Route (Australian Alps Walking Track) leading to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
