Application conditions

If you want to apply for the Certificate of return of Foreign students, you need to meet the following conditions:

Is now a citizen of the people's Republic of China;

Study in Australia and obtain Diploma or above (including Diploma), or visit to Australia for more than 6 months);

Institutions of study are located in Australia;

Plan to return to work in the near future, or have returned to work;

The certificate has not been dealt with in the Education Department.

 

Graduates from New South Wales, Victoria (including Tasmania) and Queensland may go to Chinese consulates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on their own.

 

At the same time, Chinese graduates living in the above-mentioned regions or further studies, academic visits and degree studies, and those studying abroad for six months or more need to register in advance on the local online Registration Service system for studying abroad:

If you are unable to register on the above web site, you will not be able to apply for the Certificate of studying abroad.

According to the current regulations, the Ministry of Education will no longer need to provide "certificate of studying abroad" when the Ministry of Education applies for the certificate of studying abroad according to the actual needs of the individual, such as household registration, car purchase, unit requirements and other reasons.

All types of non-graduate students (such as visiting scholars, postdoctoral students) shall provide the original certificate (non-refundable) for further studies, interviews or post-doctoral studies issued by their institutions or mentors.

Material 5, those who study for academic degree must provide a copy of the academic transcript issued by the school. Non-graduate students are not required to provide transcripts.

Return Envelope description:

  • Prepaid express or Rigistered sold by Australian Post or ordinary envelopes affixed with Australian Postal Stamps. Postage can be found at: http://auspost.com.au/apps/postage-calculator.html#where; returned to China. Please contact your Australian local friend for assistance in purchasing.
  • The size of the back-mail envelope is not greater than A4 (foldable);
  • Please fill in the applicant's name and address on the front side of the return envelope. Please fill in the address of the education team of the local consulate on the back of the return envelope.
  • If you want to send it back to China, please use the Australian Postal international Envelope with marked: TO: CHINA, on the front of the envelope and fill in the Chinese address in Chinese and English respectively. Please fill in the Chinese postal code.
  • If you use Express or Registered envelopes, please leave Track No. (when you buy envelopes at the post office, ask if you can track them online)


Application process

Step 1: Fill in personal study information

Please fill in each plus * data item seriously, incorrect, incomplete data will cause the education team can not find the applicant information, please use windows system IE browser, please do not use Apple system login

 

Step 2: click OK to continue to submit proof of return information in the system

Return certificate information to fill in the instructions:

  • Study abroad to obtain a degree (i.e. the highest degree);
  • The duration of studying abroad (that is, the length of time spent abroad);
  • Certificate name / Certificate letter name (in foreign language) (according to the written material you submitted, if you submit a copy of the certificate, fill in the completion letter submitted by diploma;, please fill in the completion letter);
  • Graduation certificate number (not to be filled out);
  • Time of graduation (i.e. graduation time as stated in a diploma or completion letter);
  • Time of check-in at the Education Section (that is, time of registration on the Internet);
  • Time of return (that is, the date of learning to return to China);
  • Notes (description of study experience) (for students who have started studying in Australia from college to graduate school, In the remarks (description of study experience), click "X, to obtain a Bachelor's / Master's degree at XXX University").

 

Step 3: international students are required to prepare paper materials according to the list of materials and send them by post to the Education Group. The Sydney Consulate does not accept mailing materials.

Melbourne mailing address: Education office, 14 Selborne Road, Toorak, VIC 3142. Please indicate "return Certificate" and applicant's Chinese name in the lower-left corner of the front of the envelope. (only by post, please don't go to the library)

Brisbane mailing address: Education Section Consulate-General of the P. R. China in Brisbane,PO Box 12126, George Street, Brisbane, QLD 4003

Please indicate "Certificate of return" on the envelope.


What else do I have to do after submission?

After the submission of the material, it is most necessary to wait patiently.

  • Within 15 working days after receiving the written application material, the education team will look up the name of the applicant in the above-mentioned system, examine the written material, and accept the qualified application. At this time, the system will automatically send an "accepted" e-mail to the applicant.
  • Return to China to prove two couplets, A4 size, after acceptance, immediately put in a return envelope to send out, other materials not refundable;
  • After receiving the accepted email for about two days, please follow up the mailing on your own according to the Track No of the return envelope.

It is important to note that in the case of students studying in Victoria (and Tata) and Kunzhou, the written application has been sent to the local education team for 15 working days and the accepted e-mail sent by the system has not yet been received, possibly for the following reasons:

  • No information on the applicant can be found in the system, and such an application will not be accepted. Please re-log on to the system and verify that the information in the bidding process is correct and complete, identify the problem and correct it, then resubmit. Otherwise, the written material for such applications will be cleaned up and destroyed after six months of retention;
  • The applicants are not on the list of schools (http://www.jsj.edu.cn/) published by the Education Regulatory Network of the Ministry of Education, such applications cannot be accepted, and the relevant materials are returned directly into a return envelope.
