The Australian University of Science and Technology (alliance (Australian Technology Network, ATN) was founded in 1995 and is composed of five science and technology universities. the common characteristics of the members are that they attach importance to the contents of undergraduate studies and research into practical application results, and the alliance members seek graduates and their scientific research projects are in line with the trend of industrial and social development. The common characteristic is that the won research funds will be applied to business, information, architecture, environmental protection, engineering and nursing, so that the teaching and research quality has an irreplaceable academic advantage in the whole country.

The total number of students in ATN is 20% in the country, including 28% in engineering and 45% in architecture. There are 24% of international students and 13% of graduate students. In recent years, ATN member universities have improved significantly in the ranking of universities at home and abroad.

On September 28, 2018, Queensland University of Science and Technology (Queensland University of Technology) announced its withdrawal from the Australian University of Science and Technology alliance. There are currently four alliance member universities.
