Introduction of The Turkish Bath Museum

Mount Wilson, a small town of The Turkish Bath Museum located in (Blue Mountains), NSW, is about 35 kilometers by car from Katumba (Katoomba), the core town of the Blue Mountain Scenic area.

The Turkish Bath Museum was built in 1875 in a mansion in (Wynstay Estate), Wynes estate, formerly Richard Wayne (Richard Wynne, Irish immigrant, and the first mayor of Burwood. It was the first building in Mount Wilson. A model of late Victorian architecture with colorful brick and Italian details, it is now on the New South Wales Heritage list.

The building, which has been in use for several years as a Turkish bathroom, is now renovated with colorful brick exterior, Italian decor and fine corner buildings with cast iron spires. Part of the building is open to the public as a museum.


Open hours:

  • March-May: 12:00-15:00 every day
  • September-October: 12:00-15:00 every day
  • Remaining months: Sunday (open every three weeks), available for telephone consultation
