Katoomba

Introduction of Katoomba

Located on the edge of Blue Mountains National Park in eastern New South Wales, Katoomba is the core town of the Blue Mountains, where the city's railway train station is beautiful, while the town's leisurely, clean, and touristy business atmosphere adds vitality and almost becomes one of the most important synonyms for the Blue Mountains.

The Blue Mountains Line (BMT), which runs from Sydney, has been walking along the ridge in the Blue Mountains, with a dozen or so small towns perched on either side of the line, and Katoomba is one of them.

The town of Katoomba is very lively, with the most commercial restaurants and hotels, gift shops and visitors, so the atmosphere in the town is mainly lazy, casual, relaxed and free.

Katoomba, linked to Leura, is about a 10-minute drive from the heart of the town of Katoomba to Three Sisters at the Blue Mountain's most famous attraction and the Blue Mountain's cable car location, the Scenic World.

How to reach:

  • Self-driving: Katoomba is about 100 km away from Sydney and 1.5 hours one way;
  • Take the Blue Mountains Line from Sydney's Central Station and get off at Katoomba Station to the town centre for about two hours one way.
