Chinamans Hat Island

Chinamans Hat Island, South Australia, Australia

Introduction of Chinamans Hat Island

Chinamans Hat Island is located at the southernmost tip of (Yorke Peninsula), west of Adelaide, in the southern waters of (Innes National Park), Ines National Park, about 300m from the mainland in a straight line. The strange-named island was named for its resemblance to a top cap of the Qing Dynasty. The island is so small that it cannot be reached without permanent residents and can only be seen from afar off the coast of Pondalowie Bay Road.
