Ethel Wreck Beach (Ethel Wreck Beach Lookout) is located on the southwest corner of (Innes National Park), in the southernmost tip of (Yorke Peninsula), west of Adelaide. It was called Carmelo Beach (Carmelo), after a 1904 shipwreck, the ship Ethel, which sailed from South Africa to Adelaide, hit a reef and sank, so the beach was renamed what it is now. Since it is surrounded by cliffs, the salvage work has been going on for several decades, and some of the remains of the ship are still preserved on the beach.
There is a viewing platform in Ethel Wreck Beach, (Lookout) can view the surrounding magnificent scenery, but also can go down to the beach to swim or surf.
