Bicheno is a small town on the eastern coast of Tasmania, about 180km southwest of Horbart, the capital of Tasmania, and 160km northwest of (Launceston), Tasmania's second largest city, with a resident population of about 800km.
Bicheno is best known for watching nesting penguins, which are of the same kind as Melbourne Philip Island (Phillip Island), not in town, on a path close to the beach. The path is open to traffic during the day, but only pedestrians are allowed to pass at night. Keep quiet when watching the penguin return to avoid disturbing the penguin, and the camera is not allowed to use, because the accidentally turned on flash can seriously scare the little penguin.
To see penguin homing, it is best to book in advance on the official website, this site can also book online, the price is more favorable, please [click here]. If you do not have a reservation to go directly to the scene, be sure to arrive at the Bicheno Visitor Information Center (Bicheno Visitor Information Centre) before the office closes at 17:30. It takes about 70 minutes to visit, and you can ask questions at any time with a detailed explanation. No photos are allowed throughout the tour.
In addition, there are two places where penguins can be seen free of charge: Bicheno The Bay Hotel (Bicheno by the Bay) and diamond resort (Diamond Island Resort), penguins return home between 20:00 and 21:00. If you don't report, you can go to the seaside to try your own luck.
