Sydney Town Hall

Sydney Town Hall, 483 George St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia

Introduction of Sydney Town Hall

Sydney Town Hall is one of Sydney landmarks in the city centre of nsw's capital, george street (George Street), which, along with queen victoria tower (Queen Victoria Building) on the north side and st andrews cathedral (St.Andrew's Cathedral) on the south side, forms a beautiful landscape of a classical george street architecture and, together, a precious national heritage.

Sydney Town Hall, founded in 1869, is one of the oldest buildings in the Sydney. It is constructed of Sydney local-specific sandstone and belongs to the neoclassical and second-imperial style of france: with a towering minaret and a peculiar roof, it is described as "gorgeous decorative composition" and "wedding cake ".

Sydney Town Hall is a highly adaptable and versatile public building. The interior rooms are often used for large-scale conferences, exhibitions, performances and receptions. The external balconies and stair steps are a ceremonial platform for large-scale celebration of rally and a stage for democratic expression, while the upper clocks calibrate people's time, especially in the pre-electronic age.

The Sydney Town Hall is composed of the mayor's office, the parliament conference hall, the centennial hall and so on. One of the most striking is undoubtedly the Centennial Hall, an extremely magnificent hall with a 20-metre roof that can accommodate 2,000 spectators, stunningly decorated with painted glass windows and giant marble columns of native Australian plants; and the largest organ in the world, which is 25 metres wide and assembled from more than eight thousand pipes built in London and shipped to Australia by ship in 1890, impressed by its wonderful sound effects and can be played on the spot with luck; At the same time, the Centennial Hall is also the venue for concerts and festivals, where red carpets will be laid outside the town hall.
