Ellery Creek Big Hole

Namatjira NT 0872, Australia

Introduction of Ellery Creek Big Hole

Ellery Creek Big Hole West McDonnell National Park (West MacDonnell National Park), in the middle of the Northern Territory, is one of the most popular camping, walking, swimming and picnic sites in the West McDonnell range area.

Located about 90 km west of the small town of Alice Springs, Ellery Creek Big Hole is a natural swimming pool and camping resort that is very popular in hot summer days. As a result of the inexhaustible impact of the floods during the rainy season in the north for thousands of years and the inexhaustible supply of water from the (Ellery Creek) source of the Ailery Creek, this spectacular deep pool is considered to be a geographical landscape of great international significance.

In addition to camping, the most popular activity is to take a circle along the 3-kilometer dolomite walking path, (Dolomite walk), to view the diverse rock structures surrounding it.

Note:

  • Check whether the condition of the road is allowed to enter the Internet before departure;
