Adelaide River Railway Museum is located in the small town of Adelaide River., inland in the northern part of the Northern Territory.

Adelaide River Railway Station (Adelaide River Railway Station) has a long and important historical significance, the railway station was officially opened in December 1889, as the first branch of the North Australian Railway (North Australia Railway, NAR), It is an important station from Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory, and (Pine Creek), the pine creek, from 1889 until 1976. During World War II, since Adelaide River was an important military center and the main hospital was located north of the town, a large number of Australian and allied bases also played a very important role in the, Adelaide River railway station in the region.

After decommissioning, the, Adelaide River train station was abandoned until 1988, when it was renovated and reopened to the public as a museum.
