Burst, EOI invitations halved to just one round a month

The first EOI invitation for the fiscal year was issued on July 11, and it is estimated that nearly 1000 places have been distributed.

Cold professional scores dropped, the speed greatly increased, everyone thought skilled immigrants will be over in the winter, looking forward to the second round of invitation this morning.

And yet! The Immigration Department is the "will play" to issue a message in the SkillSelect system at 12:00 in the morning, saying that the invitation to guarantee that 189 independent technical migrants and 489 relative guarantees will be issued on the 11 th of each month and will be implemented on 11 August. And the total number of monthly invitations is not changed.

The screenshots are as follows:

This statement is quite meaningful.

Control the number of immigrants

First of all, we can be sure that at the beginning of this fiscal year, the Immigration Service did not intend to issue only one invitation per round. Immigration officials online in advance of the invitation on July 11, noted that the invitation will be issued twice a month. It is understood that for some time now, the Immigration Service is still planning how to control the number of skilled immigrants.

Second, early this morning's circular states that each round of invitations will take effect from Aug. 11. So that means there will be another round of invitations in July? Or has it been changed to issue invitations on the 11th of each month? According to our guess, the possibility of a second round of invitations in July is extremely low.

The Immigration Service has not yet released its occupation ceiling, and career lists for the new fiscal year. We believe the Immigration Service will change the invitation to once a month, giving itself more time buffers and adjustments, and limiting low-score applicants. From the immigration board's overall approach, most of the total number of monthly invitations to be controlled at around 1000. And it is also likely to occur in the last fiscal year, by the second half of the year to further reduce the number of invitations. Here's a wake-up call for everyone! Don't get away with it. Get all the points you can get together!

Of course, if you look at the issue optimistically, assuming that immigrants will issue another round of invitations in July, and that the number of invitations will be in line with July 11, the number of invitations in August will be around 2000. As a result, the number of invitations for the whole year will exceed that of the 2017 / 2018 fiscal year. It's not comparable to fiscal year 2016-2017, but it's a lot easier in terms of scores. However, due to immigration for nearly a year of various practices, we have no hope of this.

Finally, to make it clear, immigration policy is subject to macro-control by the federal government. Attitudes towards immigration vary widely from party to party, which is why Australia's immigration policy fluctuates. But now it is certain that the federal government wants more migrants to go to remote areas to support the development of remote areas. So we suggest that, if you have a choice, consider going to remote areas as a backup plan, and don't wait until big cities can't emigrate before they regret it.
