Fortunately, in addition to marriage, Australia's legal system has always recognized another legal relationship, that is, what we often call De Facto Relationship..
"De Facto Relationship", or "cohabitation" or "de facto marriage".
The concept of spouse in Australia is completely different from that in China. In China, as long as you do not go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to receive a red book, you are not recognized as married. But in Australia, of course, this is not the case!
First of all, Australia's so-called De Facto Relationship is not in fact a registered marriage as recognized by law, so you will not have the right to form all marriages, but it can prove that you and your partner have a de facto marriage relationship. Secondly, if the cohabitation relationship is to be recognized, the spouses also need to meet the following conditions:
- The length of a cohabitation relationship
- Is there economic support for each other?
- Whether they own common property (property, car, bank account, etc.)
- Loyalty to cohabitation
- Is there a registered cohabitation relationship at goverment
- Whether there is a child (not necessary)
- Whether cohabitation is recognized by friends or family (very important)
How should I apply?
- Complete an application form, mainly to fill out the basic personal information. Key points: when filling in the information of two applicants, at least one of the applicants is resident in Australia and works or studies in Australia;
- Get a few types of files ready.
- A document certifying one's identity, such as a driver's license, a permit to hold a gun, a passport, etc.
- Documents supporting your life in Australia: medical insurance card, credit card, Australian security card, student card, etc.
- Documentation certifying your current address: such as driver's license, fixed bill for hydropower and coal

Case 2: master application for Mechanical Engineer, spouse nomination for HR Manager. Because MechanicalEngineer is in MLTSSL, but HR Manager is only in STSOL (jobs nominated for STSOL do not apply), the sub-application in this example will not be able to give the main application an additional grade in the category 189 visa.
