The History of Puffinbili's Steam Little train
When it comes to Melbourne's interesting tourist attractions, the answer is sure to be the Puffing Billy Little train Railway. The 1900-year-old Puffing Billy, known as a living museum, is one of Melbourne's most iconic tourist attractions.
The vicissitudes but still vibrant, beloved small steam train, is not only Australia's oldest steam train, but also one of the best-preserved steam train in the world. Now traversing the original mountain orbit between Belgrel (Belgrave) and Jane Brooke (Gembrook), it travels through the heavily vegetated Dantonne range (Dandenong Ranges).
With the exception of Christmas (December 25), Little train works hard every day, bringing joy to waves of tourists. But what many people do not know is that the, Puffing Billy can be maintained until now, behind it is countless people's tireless efforts and support.
On December 18, 1900, the Puffing Billy Railway, 35 kilometers from the heart of Melbourne, was officially opened to transport goods and passengers. But in 1953, half a century later, the railway had to be shut down in 1955 because of a collapse and operating losses at the time.
But the Victorian, deeply attached to the little train, did not want to see the loyal old man retire like this, so some enthusiastic public members volunteered to form the Puffing Biily Protection Society, with the support of the state government and the assistance of the citizen military Service, a group of zealous members of the public who volunteered to form the Puffing Biily Protection Society with the support of the State government. The railway was rebuilt around the collapse in 1962 to Menzies Creek, in 1965 to Emerald, in 1975 to Lakeside, in 1975 and to the terminal Gembrook. in October 1988
Today, Puffing Billy Railways is a non-profit organization operated by the Emerald Committee for sightseeing Railways since 1977. Under the guardianship of about 100 employees and more than 900 enthusiastic volunteers, the railway and small train have been preserved to this day, and we have been privileged to ride on this human-filled historical train.

At present, the line connecting the small train starting point Belgrave to the terminal Gembrook is the main part of the original railway, which runs through the forest, vegetation gully and agricultural land. As a sightseeing car, Little train will also stop briefly at the middle three stations, namely, Minzhi Creek Station, (Menzies Creek), Jade Station, (Emerald Town), and Hubin Station, (Lakeside). Passengers can buy tickets to any station as needed.
The best way to "ride" the little train is to sit on the windowsill, stretch out your head and feet, and come into zero contact with all sorts of villages and natural scenery along the way: the mountain trestle, (Trestle Bridge), an old railway buried in stone earth. But be sure to be safe on the way!
If you meet a passer-by or a driver along the way, please don't be shy and greet them warmly.
Every station where train stops is also famous. 30 minutes after departure, after arriving at the first stop of Menzies Creek, there is a steam train museum, the (Steam Train Museum), Museum, which has a collection of historic train heads, carriages, steam appliances, and so on, both inside and outside Australia. People here can hear the story of Puffing Billy through their eyes.
Emerald is the only station that has been kept since the construction of the railway. If you get lucky on the third Sunday morning of each month in train, you have to go to the local fair, Emerald Market,. Exquisite and chic handicrafts and enthusiastic shopkeepers let visitors feel the local culture and customs in the shortest possible time.
Lakeside is the most popular destination for most tourists because of its scenic Emerald Lake Park (Emerald Lake Park) and aroma curling snack bars. Tourists can also choose to have a picnic or barbecue in the park and participate in water bike entertainment. Take a good rest and enjoy the scenery before returning.
As it takes nearly two hours to reach the terminal Gembrook and about five hours to and fro, few visitors can stick to it. It takes about 70 minutes to take the Belgrave Line Train line from downtown Melbourne to Belgrave Station (and walk two minutes along the blue line on the platform to the Puffing Billy railway.

Self-driving car park
It takes about one hour to drive east from downtown Melbourne to Puffing Billy.
Please note, destination (1 Old Monbulk Rd) there is no parking lot, just get out of the car point.
Free parking has: Puffing Billy Car Park (access to), Bayview Rd,Metro Car Park via Belgrave-Gembrook Rd, etc., as shown in the following picture.
