Tasmania's lavender story

CK Denny, a perfumer from London, moved to Tasmania with his family in 1921. Holding a packet of lavender seeds from the southern French Alps-a true French lavender, (Lavandula angustifolia). CK, realized in Tasmania the dream of producing the best lavender in the world. The firm CK family began planting pure lavender in North Lilydale, close to Bridestowe's current farm, and found that the lavender was similar to Provence's famous lavender in terms of climate and conditions.

Nowadays, lavender farm has become the largest private lavender farm in the world, producing the best quality lavender and essential oil, and it is an important raw material of many famous perfumes in the world.

Bridestowe, located in Nabowla, north of the Tasmanian peninsula, is 51 kilometers from (Launceston), the second-largest city in Tasmania, and takes about 40 minutes to drive.

The farm owns 120 acres (48 hectares) of fertile soil north-east of Tasmania, an area covered with fertile ash soil, lavender and other crops that are extremely easy to survive. The weather conditions are even more fortunate, with an average annual rainfall of 900 milliliters, so plants can be fully nourished without irrigation, and plenty of light is also conducive to plant maturity.

Lavender season is usually from December to early February, but depending on the season, it may vary slightly from year to year. The peak season is usually from mid-December to mid-January.

[lavender Garden Open] Summer (November-April): 9: 00 a.m. to 17: 00 p.m., 7 days a week (except Christmas Day).

Winter (May-October): 10:00-16pm, Monday to Friday.

In August of each year, visitors are required to make an advance reservation for their trip. From December to January, visitors have the option of guided tours, which are now available in Japanese, Indonesian and German. At other times, a video will be shown explaining the details, telling visitors about the proud history of the farm and the process of harvesting and distillation.

spring

Spring recovery is the season of plant growth and bud development. Weed in spring and prepare for summer blossoms. As the weather warmed, many of the plants and shrubs in the garden became green, enriching the landscape around lavender manor.

summe

The summer cicadas ring and the lavender flowers bloom in turn, as if harvesting the summer. Bridestowe's bees began to pollinate the flowers and start producing the manor's distinctive signature lavender honey. Endless curving lavender blooms, an endless field of flowers connected to the sunset, beautiful like a painting, this is bound to be a lifetime of memories.

autumn

After the annual flower season, the manor gardener prunes lavender shrubs about 1/3 to stimulate new growth in the coming year. The lavender garden became a new look in the autumn, and when the leaves turned yellow, it was a new look.

winte

Winter is when lavender regenerates, and lavender is sensitive to changes in nutrition and water, so gardeners clean lavender fields manually every winter. Every winter, visitors like to sit in front of the fire, watching the snowflakes of Mount Arthur fall on the lavender fields against a moody sky.

Allow cookies to spread out slightly. Flatten the ball and press the finger into the center of each cookie to make a void for the jam. Fill the void with a ball of jam.
