Development history
PIONEER TOURS - 1905
AAWithers, founded in Victoria in 1905, began a one-day tour near Melbourne. It was the company that opened many unknown routes to the Australian Alps to take visitors.
The name was changed to Pioneer. in 1923 In 1927, Pioneer made a cross-mainland trip from Melbourne to Darwin.
Pioneer, in partnership with Shell, investigated the route from Adelaide to Perth in 1957-more than 3200 kilometers away. As a result of the survey, Pioneer became the first long-distance bus company to travel around the country once a week.
GREYHOUND - 1928
In 1928, in response to the railway Mr. strike, AR Penfold began to provide passenger services between Toowoomba and Brisbane, the strike has disrupted most of the traffic. His Bullnose Whippet car comes with a greyhound radiator cover, which has since become a well-known long-distance bus travel sign not only in Australia but also around the world.
