Tasmania Zoo is located in (Tamar Valley), Tama Valley, on the western outskirts of Tasmania's second-largest city of Launceston, about 15 kilometers from the city of Launceston.
Tasmania Zoo is a private zoo that maintains revenue purely through zoo tickets and gift shops and coffee shops in the park, so it is not comparable in terms of facilities and size to the zoo in the big cities, but Tasmania Zoo also has its own distinctive features. The zoo has the second largest number of primates in Australia. Besides koala, kangaroo and other Australian endemic animals, it also has some rare overseas species and is worth visiting.
