Murphy's Haystacks

Murphy's Haystacks, Mortana SA 5671, Australia

Introduction of Murphy's Haystacks

Murphy's Haystacks (Murphy' S Haystacks) is about 40 kilometers by car from Streaky Bay on the Kash (Cash) family farm, south of Streaky Bay, a small town on the west coast of (Eyre Peninsula) on the Al Peninsula in southern Australia. About 250km by car from (Port Lincoln), Port Lincoln, the largest town on the Elle Peninsula, and just two kilometers from the main (Flinders Highway) road on Flinders Highway.

Murphy's Haystacks is an ancient piece of wind-eroded pink granite columns and boulders, estimated to have existed 1.5 billion years ago, in the middle of a wheat field surrounded by small eucalyptus thickets and one of the most popular photo-taking attractions on the El Peninsula. Visitors to the haystack may wish to follow the signs and explore the miraculous boulders along the walking trail, with picnic facilities covered with sheds in the area.
