Naracoorte Caves National Park

Naracoorte SA 5271, Australia

Introduction of Naracoorte Caves National Park

Located on the limestone coast of southern South Australia, (Limestone Coast), is about 345km by car from Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, and is one of only four places in the world with large amounts of fossil deposits. It has an uninterrupted history of fossil rocks over the past five hundred thousand years, where a large number of fossils of marsupials have been discovered in Australia. It was added to the World Natural Heritage list by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1994 (Australia's mammal fossil site, together with Riversleigh Fossil site, Queensland's Rivesley fossil site).

Professional tour guides will show you some of the main attractions here, one of which is the Cathedral Cave (Cathedral Cave), home to endangered southern winged bats, and the astonishing spectacle of thousands of bats leaving their nests at night, in the park. (Wonambi Fossil Centre), the fossil center of Warnaby, also reproduces the Naracoorte cave 200000 years ago, with models of giant fauna that match the size of the object in the simulated ancient animal habitat. If you're interested in ancient stories, you can't miss it here, bringing thrilling sensory experiences as well as increasing knowledge.
