Flemington Racecourse is located in (Flemington), the northwest suburb of Victoria's capital, Melbourne, about 5 kilometers from the heart of Melbourne.
As one of the most equipped racecourse in the world, it is the birthplace of Australia's oldest urban racecourse and Melbourne Cup, and is also the (Emirates Melbourne Cup), of Emirates Melbourne Cup. Flemington Racecourse was founded in 1855, and each year the grand event attracts people from across the country and around the world. It is also Australia's largest public rose garden, with more than 10000 rose trees reaching their peak in the first week of November. City horse racing is held on Saturdays.
