Station House

16 Balfour St, Culcairn NSW 2660, Australia

Introduction of Station House

Culcairn., a small town of Station House in (Riverina region), south-east New South Wales.

In the era of steam train, as one of the main railway hubs in the Rivarena region, Culcairn plays an important role in transportation. From 1883 to 1979, the station rooms served as the home of 17 Culcairn railway station owners and their families, reminiscent of the great railway developments of the last century, which, together with the historic Culcairn railway station, dominated the local railway scene. Faithfully restored, the two-story brick building, with its charming wrought iron and stairs, as well as its original floors and ceilings, is the best example of a building of its kind in Australia.

Station House opens every Saturday, exhibiting railway-related historical relics, photos, materials, etc., popular with railway enthusiasts and history enthusiasts.
