Loch Iel (Pink Lake) L.R. Located outside the town of Dimboola, (Wimmera region), Vimora, western Victoria, it is about 340 kilometers from Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, about 380 kilometers from Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, and about 8 kilometers north from Dimboola along the western highway (Western Hwy).
Loch Iel (Pink Lake) L.R. With an area of about 45 hectares, it is a very ancient salt lake with a long history of salt mining. It produces 30 tons of fine-looking powder salt every year, and is rich in phosphorus, calcium, potassium and other natural minerals. It is a popular specialty of Dimboola.
Loch Iel (Pink Lake) L.R. The water source is groundwater, and every summer the lake changes into a gentle pink under the action of red pigment secreted by microalgae, revealing a full of fairy air around the surrounding flowers, plants and trees. And the color of the lake will change with the amount of water, when the lake water is less, the white crystal salt will reflect more light, so that the lake water shows exquisite light pink; and when Rain Water is rich, the pink waves continue to slap against the shore, the pale pink salt bed is exposed during the dry season, and the feet squeak.
