Introduction of Thorndon Park Reserve

Thorndon Park Reserve, located on the eastern outskirts of South Australia's capital Adelaide, is about 10 kilometers by car from the city of Adelaide and covers an area of about 20 hectares.

Thorndon Park Reserve is a city park, formerly (Thorndon Park reservoir), an ancient reservoir built in 1860, and the first reservoir in Adelaide to provide water for the city. In 1986, it was transformed into a park and opened to the public. Half of the area of Thorndon Park Reserve is covered by reservoirs, ponds and wetlands. It has a beautiful environment, green trees, a wide range of wildlife, especially in the lake, numerous waterbirds, walkways, picnic barbeques, Children's playground, amphitheater, artificial waterfalls and other facilities, suitable for family leisure gatherings and so on.
