Sandalford Wines

3210 W Swan Rd, Caversham WA 6055, Australia

Introduction of Sandalford Wines

Sandalford Wines (Sandalford) is located on the Swan River (Swan River) in the heart of Swan Valley (Swan Valley), northeast of Perth, the capital of Western Australia, about 15 kilometers from downtown Perth.

Founded in 1840, Sandalford Wines is one of the oldest, largest and most famous private wineries in Australia. The history of the winery can be track back to the 19th century, when John Sep Timmers Roy (John Septimus Roe), a British surveyor, was ordered to work in Western Australia, after 11 years of excellent work, that is, in 1840. He received a reward from Queen Victoria for a 2000-acre piece of land near (Swan River) on the (Caversham) Swan River in Cabeson, which he named (Sandalford), and planted the first vine, Sandalford Wines, and was born.

In the 1960s and 1970s, wine expert John Gladstone (John Gladstone) found that the climate of (Margaret River), the Margaret River in Western Australia, was very similar to that of Bordeaux, France, and was an ideal area for making fine wines. Based on this discovery, Sandalford Wines bought 280 hectares of land here and planted vines here in 1970.

In 1991, the (Prendiville) family bought Sandalford Wines, and, Sandalford Wines began to develop tourism, building wine tasting rooms, restaurants and other tourism facilities, and also actively engaged in concerts, wedding and other activities, making Shandufu a famous tourist destination in Swan Valley and Margaret River area. In 2005, he won the Western Australian Tourism Award "Sir David Brand Award 2005" (2005 Sir David Brand Award at the West Australian Tourism Awards).

Sandalford Wines is now one of the oldest wineries in Australia and has won awards at Western Australian and even national wine fairs. One example is Sandalford Wines's 2003 Prendiville Cabernet Sauvignon, which won gold awards in Brisbane,Adelaide and Western Australia, respectively.

Sandalford Wines has a wide variety of facilities and activities, including the acclaimed single point restaurant (outdoor dining in the 160-year-old vineyard), a range of stylish wedding and functional facilities, outdoor concerts, festivals and events, as well as the first luxury river cruiser, Miss Shandufu, (Miss Sandalford), wine tasting and mixed wine, as well as wine tasting and sales. A wine cellar for gifts and branded goods.

Guests can take part in a variety of sightseeing activities, such as enjoying the "mountain rich experience", spending 1 hour and 15 minutes visiting the winery, and then participating in wine tasting activities to learn how to taste wine through the color, smell and taste of wine, or to learn more about the wine-making process. In addition, you can also go to Shandufu winemakers to attend a one-day course, which must be booked in advance.
