Heirisson Island

Heirisson Island, Perth WA, Australia

Introduction of Heirisson Island

Heirisson Island is an artificial island on the Swan River (Swan River) in Perth, the capital of Western Australia, about 5 kilometers from the city of Perth, which is also known as the kangaroo island because it is home to a crowd of wild, unafraid kangaroos.

Heirisson Island connects the north and south of the land by the causeway bridge. As early as 1801, the mud of the Swan River formed the rudiment of the island. In 1839, the early colonists decided to use a bridge to connect the two sides of the Swan River. Although the first bridge was washed away by the flood, in 1863, with the formation of the change of the river and the formation of the tidal flat, the original plan to build the dam was put on hold. The second bridge was built successfully. In 1905, the first tram crossed the bridge. In the 1950s, river bank realignment and levee bridge planning standards were raised, resulting in what is now being seen as the Causeway Bridge and Heirisson Island, thanks to the building power of World War II veterans.

Now it has become a habitat for nature reserves and wild kangaroos, shaded with pedestrian trails around the island, overlooking the city of Perth against Langley Park. In 1975, Heirisson Island was named as a PerthA-like landscape and was heavily planted with forests and shrubs. The statues of indigenous hunting ground leaders, wild kangaroo and Yagan statues, (Yagan Statue) became the three spots here. Shops and restaurants near the causeway bridge are convenient for visitors.
