Budj Bim National Park

Mount Eccles Road, MacArthur VIC 3286, Australia

Introduction of Budj Bim National Park

Budj Bim National Park (Budj Bim National Park, also known as Mount Eccles National Park), is located in western Victoria, about 310km from the Victorian capital Melbourne and covers an area of about 54.7 square kilometers.

Budj Bim National Park was listed on Australia's National Heritage list in 2004, and (Mount Eccles) in the National Park is an active volcano formed by lava gushing out of the earth's crust, the most recent eruption about 8,000 years ago. Now surrounded by lush vegetation, there is a small volcanic lake called surprise Lake (Lake Surprise). Budj Bim National Park has a magical landscape, a tranquil crater lake and a pleasant jungle environment, giving a primitive and peaceful feel. And, Budj Bim National Park is thought to be the easiest place in Victoria to see wild koalas, and as soon as you look up, you'll probably see only koalas lying languidly on eucalyptus trees and, in good luck, walking through the trees.

Budj Bim National Park's camping area also features a hole in the rocks of lava flows about 250m from the edge of the crater, with latrines, hot showers and a shared fireplace.
