Introduction of Australian Golfing Museum

Australian Golfing Museum is located in Bausville (Bothwell), a small inland town in central Tasmania, founded in 1996 by Australian Golf Champion Peter Towwood (Peter Toogood).

Bausville is said to have the oldest golf course in the Southern Hemisphere, Australian Golfing Museum, located in an ancient sandstone historic building in the area, telling people about the evolution of golf. How golf changed from the original rough game to an elegant international sport in the southeastern coastal villages of England and became Australia's most popular sport. The exhibition in the museum proves why the historic Bausville area has become Australia's earliest golf course, and the nearby (Ratho) Golf course is recognized as Australia's oldest golf course. And Bausville's town has five different golf courses. The museum also shows the history of golf through changes in golf, from the 15th century to the 19th century, feathered golf balls, to the 1850s to the 20th century Eucommia gum golf balls, And from the 20th century to the second World War, to the modern golf ball.
