Marakoopa Cave is located in (Mole Creek Karst National Park), Morse Creek Karst National Park, in the north of Tasmania.
Moor Creek Karst National Park has some of the most popular cave systems in Tasmania, with more than 300 limestone caves of all kinds in the park. Marakoopa Cave and King Solomon Cave (King Solomons Cave) are two of the most famous. Marakoopa Cave has two underground streams, the temperature in the cave remains around 9 degrees a year, and the cave has an amazing pool of crystal and stalactite reflection. In addition, a large number of fireflies live in the cave, turning off the lights, a little blue like stars, quite quiet and tranquil beauty.
Visitors can take a guided tour of the cave, 45 minutes or so without reservation. Note that no pictures can be taken in the caves where the fireflies live.
