Founded in 1886, Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne is one of Australia's oldest theatres and one of Victoria's busiest performing arts centres. It has always been used as a live theatrical performance. It is now listed in the Victorian History list.

Built many times, the, Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne, is now a 1700-seat modern grand theater that combines Victorian antiquity and modernization, with top-of-the-line lighting, sound and safety. The Theatre, which offers professional theatrical works from the annual tour season, represents a selection of works by Australia's top theater companies. In the more than 100 years of history to date, numerous classic plays have been staged, and many world-renowned artists have performed here. Is one of the symbols of Melbourne art and culture.

Since 1965, (Royal South Street Competitions), Australia's largest and longest-running royal south street competition, has housed the theatre from mid-August to early November. There is also an organ (Compton Theatre Organ). Of the Compton Theater in 1937.
